Honda Motorcycles 2026 V3R 900 E-Compressor Prototype

Nov 2025

In anticipation of EICMA 2025, one of the world’s largest motorcycle exhibitions, we produced a series of films showcasing the value of Honda’s new motorcycle, the V3R 900. While the previous year focused primarily on communicating the V3 engine concept, this year marked the completion of the bike as a true “rideable prototype.” To convey this evolution, we developed a full-length film alongside development and technology-focused versions, a 360-degree CG visualization, and short-form videos. Together, they layered the thrill and reassurance generated by the V3 engine and its electronically controlled compressor, delivering both riding excitement and technological innovation to audiences on-site and across social platforms.

Client Brief

The brief called for communicating not only the aggressive performance and riding excitement riders seek, but also Honda’s core values—engineering challenge, safety, and environmental performance—in an integrated way. Following the previous year’s reveal, anticipation for the V3R had grown significantly, particularly among European riders, making it essential to deliver a compelling next step that would meet those heightened expectations. Rather than presenting specifications alone, the task was to express Honda’s commitment to entering a new frontier through film, strengthening trust in the technology while further elevating anticipation for the brand itself.

Our Proposal

Breaking the Limits.
— Performance and Control Beyond Boundaries

Under the concept “Breaking the Limits.”, the film centers on Honda’s spirit of achieving what was once considered impossible. With the V3R becoming rideable this year, the focus shifted to visualizing the very moment when previously unattainable technology begins to move in the real world. The film portrays the V3R’s monster-class instant power and finely balanced controllability through a three-layered structure—laboratory experimentation, internal mechanical visualization, and dynamic riding scenes—crafting a narrative that proves the credibility and reality of Honda’s engineering innovation.

In the main film, we portrayed the process of the V3R coming to life as a single, continuous journey. Through CG visualization of the internal structure, viewers are able to grasp the explosive behavior and unique characteristics of the V3 engine. This is followed by riding scenes on the chassis, where developers are shown reacting in real time to data and behavior displayed on their monitors—capturing the tension and passion of a team confronting uncharted technology. The film then transitions seamlessly to the test track, where the V3R’s agile yet powerful performance brings the story to a close, experientially conveying the moment when bold challenge is transformed into tangible achievement.

In addition, the 360-degree film presents the V3R 900’s core technologies in a fully immersive, experiential format, tracing the process by which components are assembled and the motorcycle is completed. By allowing the camera to orbit the bike and visualizing exploded views that assemble in midair, the film enables viewers to virtually relive the construction process, offering a deep, intuitive understanding of the engineering at the heart of the V3R.

Result

Following the release, YouTube responses were largely positive, praising Honda’s spirit of challenge and technological innovation. Anticipation for a production model was particularly strong, with many comments expressing renewed confidence in the brand. Viewers also engaged in detailed discussions about the engine structure and torque characteristics, highlighting strong interest from technically minded audiences. Negative reactions were minimal and mostly reflected eagerness to ride the bike sooner—underscoring the high level of expectation. Overall, the response revealed growing anticipation for Honda’s next steps.
